Girls’ West All-Stars Win

Gastonia High School’s Shannon Smith was named the East-West 36th Annual All-Star Games’ Most Valuable Player after leading West to a 62-55 win. Smith scored 15 points and had five assists while former Gastonia teammate Kelsey Harris added 11 points and nine rebounds. Cheyenne Parker, a six-feet-four center from Greensboro’s Southwest Guilford, contributed six points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Parker will take her game to the next level at High Point University where she signed an athletic grant-in-aid agreement.
